Will u still hug me?

Started my SSC(student selection component) in North Manchester this week..which is on infectious diseases! Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, Chlamydia, Syphilis, Salmonella...u named it, we have to learn it:P Something uncommon in the UK..but it's picking up due to the many immigrants coming into this country:)

Teachings were quite good...just last Friday, we had this pre counselling HIV test session from this tutor who has been diagnosed positive HIV for years..but willingly he shared with us the fear he has, the hard times he had to go through..rejections, discriminations, humiliation and loneliness etc. It's a stigma the world has labelled them. but in fact, it's not THAT infectious if u see the estimated risk of transmission to different types of exposure! People just think touching by a simple touch to them, u will get infected! And thus, people tend to isolate them and labelled them as DIRTY..It really got me thinkin...Will u still hug me if i'm HIV positive? will u still be my friend?

Had an opportunity to sneak into the breast surgery theatre in North as well:) Since we knew the surgeon personally, he let us in to observe. So took a few hours off from ID and went to see a radical mastectomy being done..as in REMOVAL of the WHOLE breast...this woman had breast cancer and the best treatment was to remove the breast...It's quite a horrible scene. i think for woman especially..it's like treasure..but unfortunately, breast cancer is a KILLER and the only option is to remove it! wahhhh...when the whole breast was removed, all we cud see was the flat pectoralis chest muscle underlying the ribs..really RADICAL! and the worst scene was...3 surgeons who were ALL MALE, cutting and diathermised the breast tissue..dun b offended, but it's just a sad scene, seeing the MAN handling woman's breast and they cud never understand the traumatising fear the woman has to go thru, and sadness of loosing a breast...haih...fate of a woman i guess:(

Happy BIGGIE day to the WOMAN, Sarah Ng!
TQ..for all the ups n downs, the joy and pain, the love u shared:) U're a blessing and God sent to me...take heart sis, Jesus loves u, i love u toO;)

Helen turns 21 toO:) Bithday celebration @ Taiwu:)

Not to forget, our honoury guest from London/Seremban, AarOn!! Hardcore Man Utd fan finally made it to Old Trafford!!! Hooray! Mancunians welcome u with joy..thanks for compromising with us to eat..Jap:P Hope u hv fun in UK, embrace the COLD b4 goin back to the oven in Seremban:) Muakakkkaka...great catching up though..

SF retreat:)

As promised, am going to blog bout my recent retreat at Huddersfield. A mini escape from the hustle and bustle Manchester city:) and by God's perfect timing, it's right after my OSCEs, which is GREAT!

Theme this year was triple Rs- Relationship+Rest+Restoration!! :)

Speaker was Valerie Ooi, a gurl who is passionate bout God, ManUtd and Ice cream:P All of us had a great time there. Experienced His presence and fellowshiping with SF-mates:)

Val shared bout the story of Elijah. A man who OBEYs God faithfully. From the book of 1 Kings 17, Elijah by faith listened to God and escaped to Kerith, where he was fed by ravens and waited patiently for God's provision everyday. An empty brook as such illustrated that though it's nothing there, God's love is present. God just wants us to wait because in this waiting period, He is refining us, and mouldingus to trust Him for His providence just like how He instructed the ravens to feed Elijah by the brook. In each and everyone of us, we have loads of desires, but our God knows wat is good and wat is bad for us. So in order to give us the best, He wants us to be more patient and remember 'in not wanting and not having, you already have everything' because we have a God who gives cheerfully! A Father who loves to bestow us with blessings... All in all, rmb that God has the POWER. He is the source and He faithfully delivers. His ways are always HIGHER!
She also shared bout our spiritual gifts as well. something to ponder on...
wat are my spiritual gifts? how can i use them to glorify Him. Am still in the search for it...

us, in the train to Huddersfield:)
